Fun fact:
One day my wife told me, “Other bus apps can show the full bus route. Very useful because I can see what other buses go to my destination.”
So, being the dutiful husband and curious developer, I built the feature for her. Nearing completion, I wanted to understand the user experience better, especially since showing all bus numbers for every stop on a route is no small task. I asked her to show me how she used the bus route feature in other apps to find alternative buses.
Her reply?
“Actually hor… I never check the bus route leh.”
My reaction: Wah lao eh. 😅
Lesson learnt: Sometimes stakeholders do not actually know what they truly need. They might be influenced by what others say. It is our job to dig deeper, question intentions, and understand the real purpose before building.
Still, that is how the Bus Route feature made it into this update.
P.S. The update is live now! 🚀
